Things you should know before getting your first pet dog

So now one this pandemic gets over what exactly are your plans?
So something I can suggest is adopting a pet which can help both sides !! How you might wonder?
Well, you can save a puppy's life as well as you can have good home environment!
One fine day !! This thought of getting a pet dog hits you and somehow you have succeeded in getting the most difficult person to agree on getting a pet that is your mother.
So now you're welcoming a pet dog into your family for the first time, what are the important things you need to prepare for as there are going to be drastic life changes.
You might have already ask yourself this question regarding whether I'm ready for this commitment? and if your answer which should most certainly be "yes".
For you today I'll share my tips and tricks you need to keep in mind before getting your first pet dog. Yes, you heard it right! These are the things you need to do before you get them and then there is other important stuff after you get them.
Well, now you know it going to be a hell pf a ride nut make sure you enjoy it because trust me I am a proud pet dog owner for the past 8 years and it has been one of the best decisions in my life.
So what are we waiting for let's get started!!!!

  1. Puppy Blanket

Now, this is one of the most important things to do right away that is whenever you have decided your place from where you are going to get your pet dog make sure you go there and give the dog owner a blanket.

So you might wonder how would giving the dog owner a blanket be of any help well that's the whole trick dogs in the early stages as a puppy are all about the scent.

so you can ask the dog owner to make the puppy's mother sleep on that blanket with her puppies so this will leave the scent of her mother on the blanket and trust me you will not regret doing this. Make sure you do this least a week before you get the puppy.

  2.  Puppy proofing your house

Now the house you have been living isn't just yours anymore you are going to have a very curious baby paw running around that house very soon.

It's your job to make sure that you keep away things that are meant to be away from him.

Anything from pieces of paper or vertical blinds and long cords which he might find a chew on you don't want that to happen to speak from experience.

(Mine got chewed in the dark night she woke up and my mouse cable got her interest and bam it was into two pieces the next morning and she had her sound sleep in the corner).

Another quick reminder make sure any plants in and around your house are not poisonous to your new fur friend.

  3. Stock up on supplies

With this, if you have to do your research with good dog food which will help in all-round development some I can suggest is (Royal Canin)this is really good dog food for puppies especially in those starting years but you don't have to buy it right away.

what you actually have to do is
Check with the dog owner on what kind of food he is being fed and get a packet of the dog food so that there is no drastic change of food if that happens your puppy might not eat right away and you can change it over two weeks by adding a small quantity of the new dog food in the old one.

Stock up on supplies for new puppy

Next, these are something you would need to do after your get your furry paw friend.

    1.  Early exposure

These starting stages the first weeks are very important for your puppy you need to get them exposed to things which you want them to be comfortable around.

For examples when the sleep you should keep touching them this will help them get used to human touch and they won't be waking up every two seconds on getting touched in their later life.

Next, you can do is getting them comfortable with the different sounds in your house like the tv or the vacuum cleaner again a lot of help in the future.

This is also an important stage to get your puppy used to groom and nail clipping
Another point is not giving your puppy to much freedom and how can you do that is by getting a puppy crate as dogs like closed spaces so this will make them feel like home for them.

    2. Socializing your puppy

Now, this is something you must be very careful about if you have a walled backyard that is a good space for your puppy to develop her sense of smell and her instincts.

      Socializing your puppy

But do make sure you don't let her close to any other dogs until she has all her vaccines done if you don't do so there are chances of them getting contacted with deadly diseases which we most definitely don't want.

Once she is up to date with her vaccines you can take them to different places met other dogs and people so she shows no aggression to people in her later stages which is very important as aggression in dogs in later stages is a big problem.

      Socializing your puppy

    3. Puppy schedule

Now even we humans as a kid want to do things at our own time but it's important we set up a schedule for our paw friend.

like the time she goes out or maybe just before sleep time, she is done with all her stuff so she can sleep sound make sure you keep them in their cages so they can get used to them as well and don't panic.

Also, keep a puppy feeding schedule in the start you might have to feed them multiple times in specific time instances so keep that in your mind.

      puppy schedule

Dog bowls these are really important to make sure you get a couple of them so can use them multiple times just in case you are too bored to clean one.

    4. Be ready for expenses

This is the last and important point to be ready for expenses the dog vaccines she is going to get are going to be expensive so you make sure you have your funds saved up for her as these are really important for them will protect them from any possible diseases and keep her healthy.

So these were some of the most important things you should keep in mind before you get your first pet dog.

Precautions to protect your fur friend during the pandemic

Hello, everyone πŸ‘‹ , it's Ginger the black lab πŸ• here !! Today I thought I might share something important πŸ“Œprecautions that my hooman takes during this pandemic for me.

As well all know during this tough time precautions are of utmost importance for humans πŸ‘€ as well as for our fur friends 🐢.

So there was this misconception that your pet dogs can spread this virus but that is not true which is stated in a report by the world health organization 🌍.

But we can't deny the fact that our fur friend can very well be the carrier for these viruses 🦠 . So to protect them as well as us 🀝 lets look at some measures, we can take. ✅

Precautions are as follows:-

        1. Taking your dog on a walk

  • Now let's start with the important point that is going out for business (uk what I mean by business rightπŸ‘€) so now the frequency of going on the walk is drastically affected.
  • so where ever you take your dog on a walk make sure you try to take your pets to places that are regularly sanitized by the local authorities.
  • How this helps you may ask well as I said above your pets can be the carrier so by doing the above precaution you can avoid the virus from sticking to their paws 🐾.
Taking your dog on a walk

         2. Avoid your dog from touching the surfaces.

  • Now the second thing to keep in mind is to keep an eye πŸ‘ on your dog to make sure they are not rubbing themselves against any surface tough the chances are low to get the virus stuck in their fur.
  •  This is very essential for a dog owner with dogs who have the habit of rubbing their body against the wall so I included this precaution.

    3. Be aware of what they are sniffing

  • This one is a bit important as most of us use our phones πŸ“± while we walk our dog πŸ• so even if you do so be aware of what they are sniffing.

  • As there are a lot of use and throw gloves 🧀 and mask 😷 being bought during these times I recommend you to keep an eye on your dog so that they don't end up sniffing some glove or used masks.

    4. Disinfecting their paws

  • Now after they are done with the walking and you get them back home make sure you wash their paws 🐾 with some disinfectant.
  • You can easily do it by spraying the disinfectant on their paws this will help get rid of any virus 🦠 that might have gotten stuck.

         5. Washing their paws

  •  This is the last one that is you should wash their paws after disinfecting them because it could be dangerous for the dogs they might lick it later

So these are some of the precautions you can take to protect your fur friend so that they can stay healthy and so can you.

I hope you guys find this post informative you can share this with your friends and spread awareness among the people so we can protect our fur friends

Detective Dog

Well well, I have been hard at work!! 😀Woof I used all my dog sense to collect details about all this chaos that has been going around in my house 🏠.
I tried a couple of my old dog tricks you know its quite hard looking around for clues πŸ‘ and not making these humans suspicious.
Detective Dog

But you all know me it was about my dog pride 🀩 and I had to do it.
I started with a little sniffing πŸ‘ƒ around doing my dog thing wetting around surfaces with my nose and sadly it got me nowhereπŸ˜“.
But I didn't give up I immediately switched to plan B 😏 and I started to look at my Hooman with my puppy cute eyes πŸ₯Ί and man he is dumb πŸ˜”.
here I was asking him about the situation and he tries to cuddle ❤️ with me well me being a good dog 🐢 went along and man that passed some time and it was evening and I had no leads.
I was all out of ideasπŸ’‘but I was not defeated yet I wanted to know the truth so in the evening they all sat to watch that dumb box πŸ“Ί again and I was about to leave I couldn't stand it.🀧
But that's when my big brain 🧠 started to work and I realized that watching this dumb box πŸ“Ί is when they first started to panic.
so looked at the tv and then at my hooman πŸ‘¦πŸ» in hopes of him understanding something and telling me about it.
And finally, I saw a thin ray of hope 🀩 he came sat next to me as if he knew I was worried 😟 about all the tension in the house.
He told me about some sort of thingy he showed me its photo and damn it looked like a treat πŸ₯˜ me to yea yea don't judge me over it remember food is my priority.
But eventually, I came to know that this thingy they been calling VIRUS 🦠 you know I like to call it thingy it's better is been killing people in and around the world 🌍 .
That kinda gave me a minor shock 🀯 and got me worried about my Hooman πŸ‘¦πŸ» and his family's life and then he also explained to me that how we need to stay inside the house 🏠 to stay safe.
So I hope all of you are staying inside your house and washing your hands 🀲🏻 properly it's my duty to create awareness so here I am.
Also please take care of your fellow pets πŸ• in your house and on the streets stay safe until next time.
Woof Woof!!!❤️

Quarantine Day Zero

Hey!! Hello everyone πŸ˜‹my apologies πŸ˜”for not being active for quite a while now. Some of you might not remember me I might as start with introducing my self I am an adorable 8 years old Labrador πŸ• and my name is "Ginger" I live with a family of 4 humans whom I love and on this blog yea this blog its mine and yea, of course, you might be wondering how can a dog run a blog well I doπŸ˜‰ (Ps: My Hooman takes care of the technical stuff I am not so bright with the new internet stuff Woof!!πŸ˜…)
Well enough catching up with stuff and things in my life told I'll be sharing this new thing which is kind of jumbled up my routine I swear!! πŸ₯ΊI don't like it one bit but my hooman says it has to be this way for a while so let me start with what happened.
So it all started around the 14th of March  πŸ“… my Hooman had an important exam πŸ“‹ in the morning I wished him luck and he was off.
Later that day I saw my hooman's mom whom I call mom as well she kinda looked panic looking at some stuff on that dumb box πŸ“Ί which they sit and stare at she kinda looked concerned so I went up to her to check if she was fine she patted me on my head and then i sat beside her.
In the afternoon my Hooman returned and let's just hope he had done well in the exam 😬later he and mom had some talk and they started getting ready for going somewhere, i was so confused as it was not my timing for going on a walk but I was happy anyways as these surprise walks are always fun but what did I knew I got played 😟and it was them who were going out and not me and all I got was if I will stay at home like a good dog I'll get a treat πŸ₯˜ and as always I took the deal (Ps: Don't judge me those treats are really good). They returned home after an hour and so with a lot of stuff and they were talking about stocking up supplies πŸ§»πŸ›well to my surprise there was another bag of dog food for me as well which was all I was concerned for since half my life is about food and the other half is loving my humans πŸ˜‰
Since that day things started to get weird and weird for me is obviously my walking timings which were shortened which concerned me a lot uk how important walks for a dog if you have one you can ask himπŸ₯Ί
Idk much of what's going on right now but I'll put my dog sense πŸ• to use and find out about it until the next blog
You guys please stay tuned ❤️ as I'll get more stuff out for you very soon and please take care of the other good boys (Dogs out on the street) Over and out Woof!! Woof!!
