Help you get over your fear

This is something we have all faced during our childhood that we are scared of dogs for no specific reason or maybe there could be one.

In my case, I had an incident when I was like 7 so I was very scared of dogs from then but later when I got ginger my life changed drastically.

I started to understand my limits with outside dogs. And being able to suppress that fear feeling and move along.

Helping you keep fit

If you are someone who wants to get fit but does not want to hit the gym, your own pet could be a great way to stay in space. How you might ask, it is recommended by the health experts that adults get at least  2 hours and 30 minutes worth of moderate exercise per week.

So as an individual who is a dog owner is more likely to hit this target as “People love to be outside to walk their dog, and be with their dog,” says Kay Joubert, Director Companion Animal Services at PAWS. “It helps them be more active.”

This also has a long term benefit helping us remain mobile into our 70s and 80s. As a matter of fact, a study conducted in 2017 in the journal Gerontologist.

" Dog walking was associated with lower body mass index, fewer activities of daily living limitations, fewer doctor visits, and more frequent moderate and vigorous exercise. "

Improving social life

For an individual with not so good social skills, your dogs can be a life savior. People usually end up talking with other dog owners while they take their dogs on a walk.

It allows striking conversations and thus becoming friends over a course to time. “Dog owners, in particular, tend to be a little more extroverted, or outgoing,” says Joubert.

Talking about your favorite companion is usually quite engaging and leading to people sharing more of their stories.

Dogs are not only man’s best friend, but also may be the key to living a longer life, a new study claims.

Combining patient data of 3.8 million people from multiple studies, researchers found owning a dog can lead to better cardiovascular outcomes, especially for heart attack and stroke survivors who live alone.

Also, dog owners who do have a heart attack have better chances of survival.
